ITER Project

Assembly works continue at the tokamak facility in France

At the end of March, the assembly of sector module #7 was completed, one of the nine sectors that will form a torus-shaped vacuum vessel in which fusion reactions will take place at the ITER experimental facility in France.

DDM is performing works on this site since 2019. This year the work on the fabrication and assembly of pipe supports for the facilities that will be located in the tritium, tokamak and diagnostics buildings will continue with between 30 and 40 DDM workers working at the ITER construction site throughout 2025.

The ITER Project
In southern France, 33 nations are collaborating to build the world's largest tokamak, a magnetic fusion device that has been designed to prove the feasibility of fusion as a large-scale and carbon-free source of energy based on the same principle that powers our Sun and stars. The experimental campaign that will be carried out at ITER is crucial to advancing fusion science and preparing the way for the fusion power plants of tomorrow.
